Vianes Rodriguez focuses his practice on business law, real estate, tax controversies, tax resolution, and transactional matters. Vianes approaches clients’ questions and issues by providing creative and actionable guidance to help clients successfully achieve their goals. Vianes draws from his previous experience in municipal and federal government as well as the private sector, to provide a personal understanding of the business pressures clients face when navigating legal and administrative challenges.

Prior to joining Howard O. Bernstein, Vianes served as an Assistant City Attorney at the Denver City Attorney’s Office, representing the Denver International Airport as in-house counsel. Vianes provided legal counsel on a wide range of complex legal issues at the local, state, and federal level, including serving as the lead attorney advising DEN’s Concessions Program, which generates around 590 million in revenue. Vianes worked as an associate at a large public accounting firm, handling numerous consulting, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions transactions involving state & local as well as international tax matters.

While in school, Vianes had the opportunity to serve in the University of Denver’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, providing pro-bono legal representation for taxpayers. Vianes had the opportunity to assist clients with filing and collection compliance with the Colorado Department of Revenue & the I.R.S. as well as working to successfully decrease the tax liabilities and penalties for taxpayers. Vianes also served as an intern in the Office of U.S. Senator Michael F. Bennet in Washington D.C., assisting with Senator Bennet’s work on the Senate Finance Committee.

When not working hard for his clients, Vianes enjoys spending time exploring his home state of Colorado, running outdoors, and trying all eateries in the local food scene.
